Last Expense FAQs

Answers to waiting periods, maximum entry ages, and claims documentation.

In the event of accidental death, coverage is immediate (no waiting period applies). For natural deaths (due to illnesses), underwriters apply a standard waiting period of 1 to 3 months depending on the policy terms, to prevent people from buying policies solely when a member is terminally ill.

For biological parents or parents-in-law, standard policies allow new entrants up to age 75 or 80. Once a member is enrolled in the policy, they can remain covered for life, provided the annual premiums are paid continuously without break.

To process the payout within 48 hours, underwriters require:
1. A completed claim form.
2. A copy of the burial permit or death certificate.
3. A copy of the deceased member's National ID.
4. A copy of the claimant's National ID (to confirm identity for payment).
